• Asia's largest dental expo 'CADEX (Central Asia Dental Expo)'

EZ Ceramics Forum, which provides digital dentistry solutions, participated in

the ‘Central Asia Dental Expo (CADEX2024)’ held in Almaty, Kazakhstan from October 8th to 10th.

'Our 3D printer, zirconia ink for 3D printing, and EZ-CERA Hybrid'

introduced existing flagship products and new products,

successfully signaling the opening of the Central Asian dental market.

The 2024 Central Asia Dental Expo (Central Asia Dental Expo 2024) started in 2016

and is celebrating its 8th anniversary this year. It is the largest dental exhibition

in Central Asia and is an effective platform to introduce products and services to dental professionals.

It was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but was held as normal this year as well as last year.

The exhibition may have the opportunity to enter new markets not only in Kazakhstan,

but also in Central Asian countries such as Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

As of 2023, a total of 200 organizations and companies from 20 countries participated

and introduced dental-related products and services, attracting over 8,000 visitors.

The exhibition has been actively participated by dental product manufacturers and distributors,

as well as dental specialists and hospital officials, through which visitors can learn

about the latest dental industry trends and developments as well as advanced technologies

and the latest equipment from many Asian and European countries.

It is evaluated as a pioneering exhibition that provides information at a glance.

Through this exhibition, EZ Ceramics Forum is expected to expand its market

to Central Asia, where the market is growing rapidly, following India.

In particular, at this exhibition, an independent booth was opened and major products

made of ceramic materials for 3D printing, such as 'EZ-CERA3' and 'Ceramic 3D Printer'

for digital aesthetic prosthetics treatment, were introduced.

We even introduced new products for next-generation digital dental treatment

and conducted order consultations with global companies. ​

Because the market response to the product is quite good, the company explains

that it will be able to raise its performance level to the next level by entering new markets

such as Russia, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan as well as existing main markets.

An official from EZ Ceramics Forum expressed his ambition, saying, 

“Through participation in this exhibition, we will communicate with visitors 

not only from Central Asia but also from around the world,

creating new business partnership opportunities and laying the foundation for entering the global market.”

After signing a contract with an Indian distributor, the first export shipment

of EZ Ceramics Forum's products, EZ-CERA3 (zirconia ink for 3D printing) and ceramic 3D printer

was carried out to a dental hospital located in New Delhi, India.

According to market research firm EMIS, 90% of the Indian population is neglecting

preventive dental careand oral hygiene. Approximately 85% to 90% of adults have cavities,

and approximately 60% to 80% of children have cavities.

Once a tooth is damaged, it is difficult to restore it except through artificial treatment.

This means that the potential demand for dental treatment is high. Expectations are high

for the Indian dental market as Korea ranks first in the Indian implant market with a 29.9% market share.

After the first export shipment, we visited the New Delhi Dental Hospital in India

in October, 2024 for product technology training.

An introduction and demonstration of our products for dentists

is scheduled for this coming November.

Lee Sang-hyeok, CEO of EZ Ceramics Forum, said, “Through this export shipment,

we have taken the first step toward pioneering the Indian medical device market,”

and added, “We will actively promote the innovation and excellence of Korean medical devices.”

EZ Ceramics Forum Co.,Ltd, a medical device manufacturing company, has established a corporate research center to begin providing one-day prosthetic treatment solutions.

EZ Ceramics Forum Co.,Ltd acquired a certificate of establishment of a corporate research center from the Korea Industrial Technology Association (KOITA) last January. EZ Ceramics Forum Co.,Ltd  has acquired ISO 13485 certification, a standard established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). ​

ISO13485 certification is an international standard for medical device quality management systems. Organizations that design, develop, produce, and distribute medical devices must meet the requirements of the regulation. ​

It was announced that the medical device trade balance in 2022 was recorded at KRW 3.8593 trillion, achieving a surplus for three consecutive years. One of the main characteristics of medical device production, import, and export performance in 2022 is ▲It is considered an increase in exports of digital medical devices. ​ As the global demand for domestic medical devices increases, The importance of globalization of medical devices is increasing.

The medical field has more difficult certification procedures and certifications than other industries. ​ ISO 13485 is exported to overseas markets (European Union market, etc.) Most are essential and provide benefits to medical device companies exporting their products.

For example, Canada has medical device manufacturers selling in its domestic market. ISO13485:2016 requires quality system certification.

Accordingly, companies that have received this certification are located in major countries around the world. It is assessed as being qualified to export medical devices. ​

Through the acquisition of ISO 13485 certification, 3D printing of medical devices is possible. We plan to begin exporting “ceramic (zirconia, etc.) ink” in earnest. ​

It has been judged to be compliant with medical device manufacturing and quality management (GMP) standards.

In other words, it has been recognized as having manufacturing capabilities and facilities that ensure the quality of the ‘Dental treatment materials’ category, which is a second-class medical device.

Medical devices are products that directly or indirectly affect human life

or health and require a high level of quality control due to their characteristics.

The medical device GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) system secures a quality management system

for the entire process (design, development, production, management, etc.) of medical devices

to ensure that they are safe, effective, and for their intended use.

This is the minimum requirement to ensure that products of quality suitable for intended use are consistently manufactured and sold.

Our company has now received permission for its own production from an existing OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing), that is, medical device consignment production.

In the past, metal was used a lot, but zirconia brackets are produced in a color similar to teeth, so they are aesthetically excellent and do not discolor or stain, so many people are looking for them.

Nevertheless, the reason why metal is used is because of its adhesiveness.

Our zirconia brackets are also made in a dovetail shape to facilitate adhesion to teeth by giving notches to the bonding surface.

In general, ceramic brackets are mainly manufactured by ceramic injection modeling, but the notch is not provided on the surface that is made in a mold and attached to the teeth.

# Healing Abutment _ Implant material temporarily fixed to the top of the fixture for gum healing

When we lose even one of our natural teeth, there are many inconveniences.

There may be aesthetic problems, but they complain of numerous pain and discomfort, such as leaking pronunciation when speaking.

At this time, there is a 'implant' as a representative way to maintain the health of teeth. It is chosen by many for its various advantages, but difficulties also follow due to the complex treatment process.

The implant is divided into a main body that is placed in the bone and a prosthetic crown, and a screw-type pillar connects the two like a neck.

- Prosthesis: A part that replaces the function of teeth

- Fixture: The part that goes into the gum bone and supports it

- Abutment: The most important part in charge of the waist, located between the prosthesis and the fixture

At this time, the healing abutment secures an internal and external passage so that the implant pillar and head are connected in the future, and serves to ensure that the gums heal well around it.

The reason for 3D printing with resin and post-curing is that polymerization is not 100%. It remains even after curing.
